Emily Emily

Glasgow Caledonian University 2016 – Luxury Brand Management

Previous Work Experience
Business Development Manager
Studio Assistant Internships

I graduated from the London College of Fashion with my degree in Surface Textiles Design for Fashion back in 2012. Thanks to keen interest in ethics and CSR I was awarded with an A* for my work titled “What does it mean to be an ethical consumer and/or producer?”

After completing my fashion degree I interned and freelanced in the luxury industry for some really great brands, gaining great experience within Menswear,Womenswear, Accessories and Couture.

Through networking I received a job offer for a Travel Software and Web Design company, which gave me terrific insights of a whole new industry, where I got to go on funded learning programmes and visit the World Travel Market, where I was able to attend seminars and industry talks. It was with Igloo where I developed such a keen interest in marketing and branding and realised I can use my creative background to influence strategy, planning and take my dedication for sustainability to the luxury marketing industry.

I have really enjoyed my first term studying the MSc Luxury Brand Marketing at GCU London where I received distinctions for all coursework and an award for the Global Branding and Integrated Marketing Communications module, for my idea of an eco-boutique luxury travel agency. The coursework has been published on the GCU learning website as an example of a well written portfolio for future students, which I was asked to present to the whole class. I love to travel and learn about different cultures and markets, I independently researched heavily into CSR as I am quite passionate about it. I really want to be able to make some difference towards making the world a better place for everyone and believe that is the role of business. I love using my creativity and research skills to innovate, influence consumers effective decision making and drive new customers to the brand.
