My name is Christopher Onafeko, I am currently a second year student at Coventry University studying Accounting and Finance BA (Hons) as a sandwich course with a predicted a 2:1 classification. From May I will be available to work and will remain flexible with dates. I have included my CV for your consideration.
I have chosen to work within the finance industry, as I believe that my skill-set and mentality match the skills one must have to succeed within the industry. I have an array of skills such as strong team-work and commercial awareness as well as having the ability to confidently manage and analyse data. Since an early age, I have developed a passion for numbers which significantly contributed to my decision to study Accounting and Finance. I believe that with my degree; I will be provided with a firm foundation within finance, learn invaluable skills and enhance my career prospects. Studying Accounting and Finance has tested my ability to think analytically and logically, which is continuously being stretched and built upon. I take pleasure in keeping abreast with the macro news and the impacts it has on various economies. I also enjoy the concept of corporate figures working together in a team to achieve success as well as the day to day challenges they experience. Training and development opportunities the industry offers is another appealing factor. Despite problems within the finance sector such as the breakdown of public trust and tighter regulation that has been imposed, working within the industry is still an exhilarating prospect. I am confident that with my skills and qualities I can significantly contribute to the transformation of operating models, in order to combat these challenges.
I am a well-rounded individual who can adapt to unfamiliar situations. Working in finance requires the ability to constantly work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. With my hard-work ethics and motivational skills, I am confident that I can achieve success from any task given onto me within a given time-frame. During my time at university and past work experience I have become highly analytical and result driven whilst developing the ability to critically plan and undertake a risk assessment in everything I do. Many positions of authority have been given onto me throughout my education, which is evident on my CV, such as Prefect, Games Captain and Junior Sports Leader. These positions all have required me to execute plans in seamless ways whilst ensuring the opinions of all team members were valued and considered, thus portraying my leadership and team-work skills. Having the privilege of being a Course Rep, enables me to gather views from students and report their findings on the Student Forum. The interaction between students and senior reps demonstrates my strong communication skills. My previous work experience and other responsibilities, also shown in my CV, highlight the skills that are required to succeed within the finance industry.
