███████ █████'s CV

A Biosciences PhD student completing the first year of a Biochemical Pharmacology based PhD at University of Birmingham. As part of my first year I am required to undertake a 12 week, self-organised placement that allows me to experience business aspects and alternative career opportunities not related to those within academia and research. I have an interest in starting up my own pharma-company and so am keen to explore different aspects of business and start-ups to provide me with useful knowledge and experiences.

Having completed several large and small projects over my undergraduate, postgraduate and employment experiences I bring to a business someone who can work flexibly within a team, manage deadlines, work independently, produce high quality work and appreciate the 'bigger picture' to which my work fits in, which is essential for helping any business to grow and develop.

I am extremely hard-working which is evidenced in my multiple work-experiences that I have gained during my undergraduate training, whilst still maintaining a high quality degree result. I was also awarded the Certificate of Competence from the Institute of Biomedical Science while on my 12 month placement and included on the Dean's list for excellence as well as being awarded a 'Full Colours' award for services and commitment to Women's football at University of Essex. These not only demonstrate my commitment to my previous roles, but also time management and priortisation of work load and ability to produce high quality work.

In considering my application to join your team for 12 weeks, you will gain an efficient worker who is not afraid to ‘hit the ground running’, I experienced workplace rotations while on placement in the laboratory and had to quickly adapt to four very different work environments within the 12 months. Furthermore, you will gain someone who is able to develop positive working relationships with both colleagues and clients, evidenced by my time as a support worker, where I had to develop good working relationships with clients in order to build their trust and help them to develop to the best of their ability, as well as serve as a ‘person-of-confidence’ and be someone who the clients could comfortably talk in order to help them with their various coping strategies and talking therapies.

I am available for interview at your convenience and look forward to hearing from you.
