I have a love for online marketing, event organising and promotion, having developed fantastic social and communicative skills through a diverse range of jobs and creative experiences. I have been responsible for putting together successful and profitable events and campaigns for the UCL Radio, one of which was nominated for Best Event by the union in 2016. I have worked with venues such as Brixton Jamm, liaising with managers, booking bands and arranging entire live backlines, all while adhering to a strict student budget. I was responsible for the marketing and publicising of such events and the station itself with the creation of sharply designed event pages for Facebook and online listings, and designing and coordinating the distribution of fliers and direct face-to-face networking. To develop the Rare FM brand further I was also responsible for the management of social media sites and have helped with webpage design. I used InDesign to help create and distribute the station’s partner magazine Under City Lights which I made written contributions to a number of times, as well as using Photoshop to design and arrange the creation of merchandise which was sold at events and online. In doing so I increased those following the station’s Facebook page by over 500 during my time on the committee. During my time at the Edge Picture Company I helped during shoots and post-production for adverts, giving me first-hand experience of the marketing process long before it reaches the screens. I have also managed my band for a number of years, arranging gigs and marketing the band, and am involved in planning multiple events for The Narrow Boat, whether it be a simple pub quiz, brewery takeover, or themed night, making them accessible to the diverse crowd who frequent the pub.
Owing to my unique background in Art history and marketing I have a strong ability to convey the essence of intangible experiences through succinct words and images, which has led the Islington Archaeological and Historical Society to ask me to run their website and social media in my spare time. Besides passion and ability in the arts and events, I have a great deal of experience working in a team setting in varying capacities, whether it be at The Narrow Boat, the Royal Surrey County Hospital, or the student radio committee. This has required me to develop strong abilities to manage relationships and deliver on projects. I am confident using digital design tools to enhance social media posts, as well as using Microsoft Office for creating slideshows and word processing. I am also highly organised, and comfortable working on my own initiative to strict deadlines, as shown through my success in administration and organisation heavy roles at The Edge Picture Company and the Royal Surrey County Hospital, as well as in independent and time sensitive work such as single-handedly cataloguing the artefacts at The Clink Museum. I completed these tasks effectively and precisely, owing to a keen eye for detail, developed through fine art and academia.
