Since I was young, I have been highly interested in all things to do with mechanical engineering, starting when I helped my father in building our house, and with repairing and maintaining various agricultural machinery.
I have pursued this passion by undertaking my undergraduate degree at the University of Malaga in Mechanical Engineering. I complemented this with a year abroad at the University of Edinburgh. In Malaga I have had the opportunity to do projects such as designing office climate control systems, making restaurant illumniation efficiency designs, and designing the totality of an auto repair shop and garage. At the University of Edinburgh I competed with the first team representing UofE in the Greenpower challenge. For this, I was tasked with designing and constructing a sustainably powered race car, for which we were awarded funding from Siemens. This project was also my dissertation project.
Additionally, over the course of my degree, I have gained a high degree of expertise in a wide variety of softwares and programmes. For example, SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Matlab, and AutoCAD for designing and running simulations (such as stress conditions, heat transfer conditions, as well as fatigue conditions).
I have now returned to the UK (to Edinburgh in Scotland) in a professional capacity.I am currently enrolled on the Sustainable Energy Systems Masters, taught by Edinburgh University. As such, I am looking for a job in the mechanical engineering and renewable engineering sector to start in September 2017.
