Background

If I had to describe myself in 3 words, I would say that I am an adaptable, self disciplined and reliable individual.

Having lived in different places my entire life, such as Pakistan, Rome and Germany, I have learned to work and communicate with diverse people. I have learned to adjust quickly to different views and opinions and to incorporate them into my own ideas, embracing new challenges and tasks everyday. I enjoy meeting a diverse range of people and learning from them and their experiences. I believe this has made me a well-rounded and open-minded individual.

As an undergraduate, I took on the role as a student mentor. The position of student mentor required me to run workshops and proofreading sessions during term time. Often these events would be close to my own deadlines. As a result, I sometimes had two essay deadlines as well as a proofreading session in one week. I managed this situation by preparing my essays in advance, but also limiting the proofreading session to a specific time. This challenge required me to both motivate myself to achieve my goals and overcoming any challenges that this might bring along, but also to set priorities, accept my own limits and communicate these to the people I work with.

Finally, I would describe myself as a person, who fulfils obligations efficiently and on time and who delivers consistently good work. Throughout my time as an intern for the Carbon Disclosure Project or working as a research assistant at my university on a study about "carbon leakage", I completed the tasks I had been given in a precise and efficient manner. I am currently using these skills again during my MSc, which requires me to process and apply a lot of new knowledge in a short period of time. Even under pressure, I do my best to perfect every detail of my work and, together with excellent writing and data analysis skills, I hope to graduate with a distinction in September.
I am eager to expand my knowledge and skills in various areas relating to sustainability, economics and energy and I am certain that my skills will also allow me to greatly contribute to your organisation.
