███████ █████'s CV

Background

I am looking for opportunities to develop my knowledge of the business world in an environment that offers the more complex and demanding arena of international work. I am a focused and dedicated worker, systematically investing the time and effort to continue to hone my skills and knowledge, and my commitment is also demonstrated by the fact that I have partly funded my University education through a combination of part-time work and loans. I am no stranger to commitment.

In my legal work experience, I found myself electrified by the intense intellectual and professional complexity of advising on commercial issues alongside exceptionally talented colleagues. I was fascinated by the fast-paced and continual challenge of anticipating and pragmatically resolving the difficulties a client may face, where rigorous planning is invested in each strategy and project so that a number of different factors are duly considered and taken into account when framing advice.
At a time of unprecedented change in many jurisdictions, particularly in light of the re-balancing global economy and remarkable Asian rise, it is increasingly vital to develop cultural and commercial awareness to help businesses and their clients meet their objectives and take advantage of dynamic and innovative investment opportunities. In order to build the trust and relationships that are the bedrock of exceptional service and solutions, it is essential to understand a client’s individual circumstances, uphold their priorities and provide them with advice that they can act upon and use.

Along with excellent technical skills, I recognise the value of soft skills in circumstances such as client meetings where the dialogue must be both clear and concise. On my part I have developed strong inter-personal skills through my success as one of the top-fundraising staff on behalf of leading charities (Plan UK) whilst at university, and also as Treasurer and Social Secretary for AmeriCan Society and active freelance journalist for student publication The Tab Nottingham, reinforcing my confidence and people skills, whether in care-facing or commercial roles. These roles have heightened my empathy in dealing with sensitive issues, refined my negotiation skills and developed my proficiency in project management, leadership and financial awareness. Studying a degree located within the arts has honed my skills in the analyses of texts to extract key information, provide insights into the purpose and frameworks behind them and deliver the information in a coherent manner.

I am confident you would find that my skills, language proficiency and background would be a beneficial asset as an intern at your firm.
