Background

Under the recent financial crisis, the financial markets are undergoing significant changes and the emphasis on quality accounting and finance practice is greater than ever. My decision to apply for an internship has come from both my affection to economics and my desire to understand the language of business. Accounting, Finance and Auditing remain central elements of the dynamics in the market. It is an essential tool which can define the way that a firm, shareholders and society at large organization interacts on multiple platforms. Moreover, knowledge of accounting empowers business people across a wide range of disciplines, building credibility into marketing plans, product proposals, and financial decisions. The recent economic downturn has brought to focus the importance of financial management and active control of money flows in the mere survival of a firm, irrespective of size. During my studies, I realized that I would like to follow a career in accounting consulting firms, believing that studies in Accounting and Auditing are necessary for someone that wants to become an active member of companies operating in these challenging economic conditions. Currently, I am studying in my second semester (studying on my thesis) in Master Level of the department of Applied Accounting and Auditing in University of Macedonia. In the duration of my studies I have being taught courses such as auditing, managerial accounting, financial accounting, statistics, company law, International Financial Reporting Standards and International Accounting Standards. Also, I have very well-developed computer skills and I speak fluently English and German. I participated in a summer course in the University of Northampton which was an extremely pleasant experience, because I came up with people from all over the world and practiced the English language. I also gained a great deal of experience by participating in many competitions at school and university, encouraging me to become cooperative, communicative and able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure within strict deadlines. I would like to assure you that given the opportunity, I will try to prove myself as a capable and dedicated person. Being methodical and communicative individual, I am willing to work hard in order to success in my studies and then fulfill my career goals. An internship will equip me with all the necessary knowledge and skills as to broaden my horizons and succeed in this very competitive field. Should you require further information of any kind, please feel free to contact me by contact information.

Best Regards,
Lioudi Vicky
