From studying Mechanical Engineering at degree level and previously studying engineering during A-Levels, I have developed a strong interest in pursuing a career in a challenging engineering discipline. Having led groups in my modules, I have been able organise tasks, set up meetings and give and receive feedback from my fellow colleagues. Being able to take in the information gathered by my team proved to be important when giving presentations, to make sure that the right objectives were being met. As I have tackled a variety of projects from my A-Levels and Degree, I have been able to follow an engineered product from the design brief right to a physical prototype or to numerical test stages where techniques such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) were used. From these projects, I have gained knowledge of a basic engineered product life-cycle. These experiences have equipped me with solid engineering skills which will enable me to adapt to assignments and projects given in this role.

Outside of my studies, I am a proud member of the Kenya linking project that connects a school in the South West of Kenya (Kiprira) to my school. I was part of the 2011 trip to Kenya to visit Kiprira. The visit involved me teaching subjects such as Maths, Science and English as well as being able to hold group discussions with classes, work through problems together and have them explain the conclusions they have drawn. The overall experience of teaching greatly improved my public speaking abilities and leadership skills, when working with large groups and giving directions and instructions.

I am a passionate and ambitious student who now as an entry level Mechanical Engineering graduate, I intend on pursuing further training to develop an understanding of engineering in an industrial context and enhance my knowledge into specialist fields such as automotive, manufacturing and production.

Engineering is pure creation and is considered to be the essence of design. Without this other fields of endeavour would be academic, therefore whatever industrial field of engineering I choose for my vocation, I know quite plainly that the work I will be involved in will be worthwhile.
