I spent three months living and working in Australia; using this time to broaden my horizons and experience a new culture, as well as diversifying my employment prospects.
My most recent roles have been within the Human Resources sector. I have worked as an HR Administrator and an Operations Coordinator, carrying out administrative tasks and HR related tasks. These include dealing with offer letters and employment contracts, filing and processing appointment and annual leave requests, writing company policies and many other tasks. I was given a lot of responsibility early on and used it to progress my knowledge and skill set.
I also have experience in Marketing and Administration. During my time as a marketing and administration assistant; I was solely responsible for the set up and running of a brand new office. I did everything from the assembling of the desks I used through to managing the social media. I worked alone and very quickly developed skills I would not have developed elsewhere: I had no one to help or assist me and thus I learned to take initiative and make decisions in order to progress the business.
I have also had placements in the PR, sales and finance sectors. Furthermore, I worked as the Vice President of my university society where I was in charge of marketing and promotion. I successfully doubled the society's membership intake and helped increase our social media following from 0 to over 500 in less than a year. I have worked with high profile clients, helping to organise promotional events and have done this with little need for guidance and direction. I am able to roll my sleeves up and do a good job without being spoon fed. I can get on with people from all walks of life and thanks to my volunteering with children, have great patience and teamwork abilities.
I'm particularly proud of my achievement of The Sheffield Graduate Award. It is a ‘degree PLUS’ programme where applicants must complete a minimum of 150 hours of extra-curricular activities and produce a portfolio reflecting upon them. I completed a total of 377 hours, including volunteering and community support. I did all of this whilst also maintaining a 2:1 average in my degree (and a vibrant social life!) showing my excellent time management skills. It shows my tenacity and refusal to give up. I always see the job done (and done well).
My time volunteering with children and animals has increased my patience and ability to approach any problem from a new or different angle in order to solve it. I can roll my sleeves up and give my all, working relentlessly to achieve a goal. I have become a more well rounded person through volunteering.
I hope my skills and experience meet your requirements and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
