Whilst growing up, I developed a natural appreciation and talent for art and design. This lead to extending my studies after compulsory education at City College Brighton and Hove for two years, studying Art and Design, and then a further three years studying a BA (Hons) Fashion and Textile Design with Enterprise at the University of Portsmouth.
In my final year at University, my dissertation was entitled 'Fashion and Identity: An Investigation into Fashion Marketing Techniques', which demonstrated my in-depth primary and secondary research, theoretical and conclusive skills. My graduate collection was awarded a high First due to working on my own innovative brief based on wearable technology and identity, which has been showcased at this year’s New Designers in London.
Graduating in 2015, I decided to specialise in fashion marketing and social media. I have demonstrated my determination to enter this sector through my previous summer internships whilst at University, and through extra-curricular activities including attending the Vogue Festival in 2014.
I have previously worked within retail and am very much a 'people person'. I have been rewarded twice for excellent customer service and 'going the extra mile' in my current part-time job at Sainsbury's. I build and maintain working relationships through my life, providing an essential skill for the fashion industry. This previous work has provided my with the skills needed to succeed in marketing, as well as my University experiences with working to a tight deadline within a team or individually.
I also find fundraising for charities an enjoyable activity, with has been proven by my volunteering work at Save the Children UK, running the Cancer Research UK Race for Life and becoming a member of Diabetes UK. I also aim one day to complete the Brighton Half Marathon, and the full Marathon in the near future.
