High quality training is fundamental to Cummins continued success. Our aim at Cummins Service Training is to provide comprehensive training on all aspects of Cummins engines using the latest educational methods and tooling. Most of our courses are a combination of interactive CD-ROM programmes that are studied before the student undertakes the course and an instructor lead course here at Daventry. We train technicians from across the EMEA region and deal with both Cummins employees and directly with customers.
Be on-hand to provide support across a wide range of PC applications to a busy department. Be able and willing to explain and tutor staff on how to use software. Develop and seek new PC products which bring benefit to the department. Be active in advancing the administration processes.
Have the ability to prepare and deliver effective IT Training to both present and new staff. Main applications/systems include:
Cummins INSITE/INPOWER and other technical tools.
Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint)
Windows 98, XP, 7 and Windows 8.1
Database Development and Support (Microsoft Access)
Be able to produce and maintain a variety of small scale databases.
Be on hand to aid others with database related issues. Support admin team with Oracle front end queries.
Supporting staff on queries concerning software being used e.g.
Installation of software packages - non Power Sweep Software
Installation/renewal of Insite and Inpower Service Tools and Cummins Virtual College CD’‘s
Support with the new CVC Online as alternative to the CVC CD ROMs
Non networked computers both off-site and on-site need updates and repair.
Reporting PowerSweep issues and replacing parts.
Collaborate with the helpdesk for larger scale problems.
Web Site Development
Developing /updating Training Centre website.
Update social media platforms in collaboration with the admin team.
Adding /removing material to suit changes in industry and the training school.
Looking after users accounts - administering the department’‘s network drives, concerns and issues by liaising with person responsible for the accounts storage.
Support the instructors delivering training with technical/software support. Support the admin team with process improvement and software support.
TRAINING PROVIDED:A comprehensive induction programme as well as role specific training. Individual training to suit particular business skills required by the business or identified by the candidate.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The placement student will have completed their first two years at University in a Computing/Business Information Technology related discipline.
