Essential requirements:

  • Excellent/Fluent English – written & spoken
  • Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline: econometrics, mathematics or statistics
  • Intermediate understanding of statistical theory and/or econometrics
  • Basic understanding of statistical/econometric analysis computer software
  • Experience in analysis of and pattern detection in large data sets
  • Good PC skills in a Microsoft windows operating environment

Must have experience using some of these programmes and/or software

  • R, C#, VBA, Excel
  • Familiarity with UNIX computer environment command line interfaces or databases such as MySQL or MS SQLServer

Desirable experience

  • Advanced knowledge of statistical theory and/or econometrics
  • Intermediate knowledge of economics
  • Fluency in another EU language
  • Previous experience shall be preferred, especially if energy related

Remuneration details:

  • A competitive salary of £24,400 per annum will be provided for the right candidate.

Day To Day Tasks

  • You will learn basic and intermediate methods of electric load and gas forecasting model production, recalibration and maintenance. This process is computer and statistics intensive, with several automated tools to help with model production.
  • You will learn Unix and Windows command line interfaces for interaction with the software product.
  • You will help maintain and develop the different data processing systems (data processing scripts and automated tools, database systems, product delivery systems).
  • You will interact with customers by phone and email.
  • You will use your statistical background and analytical skills to describe to them complex results in a concise manner.
  • You will be given the opportunity to meet clients directly at their places of¬†business
  • You will be based at our London office.
